Description

Microsart® ADDfilter 100 units incorporate a white PVDF membrane without grid, 0,45 µm pore size, 47 mm diameter and 100 ml volume. These ready-to-use sterile filtration units consist of a funnel, a filter base and a membrane filter. They were specially developed for the quantitative detection of microorganisms in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, beverages, water and other samples. The PVDF membrane provides reliable retention characteristics suited to microbial monitoring workflows. Available as a single unit from manufacturer Sartorius, the ADDfilter design supports efficient sample processing in quality-control laboratories. Laboratories performing bioburden testing, water analysis or beverage quality checks benefit from the consistent geometry and straightforward handling of these filtration units. Net weight is 1,200 kg with origin in Germany. The 0,45 µm white membrane without grid facilitates clear observation of retained microorganisms after filtration and incubation across a range of liquid sample types.

This article is part of Membrane filters, in Filtration.

Questions about MS ADDfilter 100, PVDF white/plain, sing

What is this article?

MS ADDfilter 100, PVDF white/plain, sing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Membrane filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A membrane filter is the disc itself, without a syringe housing. Pore size, polymer and diameter are the specification, and the disc has to sit in a holder. Gridded membranes are for counting colonies. A membrane and a filter paper of the same diameter are not interchangeable.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
