Description

Pocket combination tester, series PC5 is a compact multi-parameter instrument for measuring pH, mV (redox), conductivity, TDS, salinity and temperature in laboratory and environmental analysis. The unit features an exchangeable measuring probe and supports one- to three-point calibration for both pH and conductivity. pH is covered from −2 to 16,00 with an accuracy of ±0,01; redox spans ±1000 mV. Conductivity ranges include 0–200 µS/cm, 0–2000 µS/cm and 0–20,00 mS/cm at ±0,5 % of reading. Temperature is measured from 0 to 50 °C (±0,2 °C), TDS from 0,1 mg/L to 10 g/L (±0,5 % of reading) and salinity from 0,01 to 10 ppt. The housing is waterproof to IP67, making the device suitable for field and wet-lab use. Supplied complete with electrode MPMT-A05-001 and offered with a two-year warranty, this pocket tester from manufacturer Labbox is delivered as a single piece with a net weight of 0,130 kg, providing a practical all-in-one solution for routine water and sample checks.

Questions about Multiparameter tester, PC5 series

What is this article?

Multiparameter tester, PC5 series is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
