Description
Nalgene™ 280 polyurethane tubing is a flexible ester-based laboratory tubing intended for high-purity fluid handling where abrasion resistance, flex-fatigue performance and low-temperature toughness are important. Transparent polyurethane construction gives clear visual control of flow, with an inner diameter of 9,5 mm, an outer diameter of 12,7 mm and a wall thickness of 0,16 cm. The roll length is 15,24 m, supplied as one roll for bench and process use. Hardness is Durometer 85 (A), with a bend radius of six times the outer diameter. Maximum operating pressure is 56 psig at 23 °C and 28 psig at 52 °C; maximum operating temperature is 85 °C. The tubing is not autoclavable. This Nalgene™ 280 line from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics suits laboratories needing durable, flexible polyurethane hose for pure-media transfer, instrument connections and general fluid routing where mechanical resilience and cold flexibility matter.
This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ 280 Polyurethane Tubing
What is this article?
Nalgene™ 280 Polyurethane Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.
PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.
Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
Which category should I open next?
The category is Tubing, hoses & fittings. The sub-category is PVC, PTFE & other tubing. The catalogue is Labware.
Shelves beside this one are Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, Stopcocks & valves, Silicone tubing and Tubing accessories.
What should I check before I order?
When this page shows a safety data sheet, use that manufacturer file. Hazard text does not belong in the sales description. For a pack size, a grade or a certificate that is not on the page, send a quote request or contact the team.
