Description

Nalgene™ 890 tubing is semi-rigid laboratory tubing for demanding fluid-handling tasks that need broad chemical resistance at room temperature and elevated temperature capability. This size provides a 1/8 in inner diameter, 3/16 in outer diameter and 1/32 in wall thickness (0,08 cm), supplied as a 50 ft (15,24 m) roll. Hardness is Durometer 58 (D), with a bend radius of 8×OD. Maximum working pressure is 250 psig at 23 °C and 125 psig at 85 °C; the maximum operating temperature is 205 °C. The tubing is autoclavable and meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food contact, supporting controlled laboratory and process connections. Nalgene™ 890 tubing from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics is intended for rigorous applications where dimensional stability and chemical durability matter. Each unit is one roll, ready for cutting and installation in research, analytical and industrial lab setups that require reliable semi-rigid hose performance under pressure and heat.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ 890 Tubing

What is this article?

Nalgene™ 890 Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
