Description

Nalgene™ 890 tubing is semi-rigid laboratory tubing for demanding fluid-transfer work where broad chemical resistance at room temperature and elevated thermal performance are required. With an inner diameter of 7,9 mm, an outer diameter of 9,5 mm and a wall thickness of 0,8 mm, this 15,24 m roll supports controlled routing in analytical, process and general laboratory setups. The tubing is autoclavable and meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 requirements for food contact. Hardness is specified as Durometer 58(D), with a recommended bend radius of 8×OD for installation planning. Maximum operating pressure is 84 psig at 23 °C and 42 psig at 85 °C; the maximum operating temperature reaches 205 °C. Supplied as Thermo Scientific Nalgene™ 890 tubing, it suits applications that need a durable, semi-rigid polymer line with defined dimensional tolerances and high-temperature capability for routine and specialised laboratory workflows.

This article is part of PVC, PTFE & other tubing, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about Nalgene™ 890 Tubing

What is this article?

Nalgene™ 890 Tubing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in PVC, PTFE & other tubing, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

PVC is the flexible everyday tube for water and mild aqueous liquids. PTFE is the stiff, almost inert tube for solvents. Other polymers sit between them. The bore, the wall and the chemical resistance are the specification, and the tube is cut to length.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
