Description

Nalgene™ square HDPE bottles with closure are compact wide-mouth bottles intended for transport, storage and sampling of liquids and dry materials. Fabricated from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in a natural translucent colour, they combine good chemical resistance to most acids, bases and alcohols with a rectangular footprint that saves bench and shelf space. The wide mouth features a 37 mm inner neck diameter for straightforward filling and retrieval. A 48 mm polypropylene screw closure without liner is included and matches the natural translucent appearance of the bottle. Nominal volume is 500 ml (16 oz) at a height of about 5,8 in; the bottles are not graduated and do not support dispensing through the closure. Certification includes USP Class VI and FDA 21 CFR, with an ACT label. Available from manufacturer Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics in packs of 12 and cases of 48, they suit everyday laboratory packaging and chemical handling tasks.

Questions about Nalgene™ Rectangular HDPE Bottles with Closure

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Rectangular HDPE Bottles with Closure is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Plastic bottles (narrow & wide mouth), inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
