Photometer for anionic surfactants HI97769C is a dedicated portable instrument for photometric determination of anionic surfactants up to 3,50 mg/L, reported as sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS). Surfactants enter surface water and wastewater from household and industrial cleaning; anionic types carry a negatively charged hydrophilic group and are among the most common. The method is based on USEPA 425.1 and Standard Methods 5540C (anionic surfactants as MBAS). Measurement resolution is 0,01 mg/L with accuracy of ±0,04 mg/L ±3 % of reading at 25 °C. An LED source, narrow-band filter and silicon photocell operate at 610 nm inside a dust- and water-sealed optical bench; round cuvettes of 24,6 mm diameter locate consistently in the holder. CAL Check™ with NIST-traceable standards supports verification and recalibration, and the tutorial mode guides preparation, reagents and volumes. GLP calibration recall, logging of the last 50 readings, reaction timer, battery status and auto-off aid reliable routine work.
