Description

qpore® syringe filter with PTFE membrane is a non-sterile disposable filter for laboratory clarification and sample preparation. The hydrophobic PTFE membrane offers high resistance to solvents, acids and bases and is suited to applications where sterile conditions are not required, such as HPLC or GC sample prep. A glass-fibre prefilter is included to support particulate load handling. For hydrophilic or aqueous media, pre-wetting with a suitable solvent is required to render the membrane permeable. The robust polypropylene housing withstands pressures up to 6,0 bar, enabling rapid filtration, while the low dead volume helps conserve sample. The unit remains stable across pH 1–14 and carries clear labelling of membrane type and pore size to reduce mix-ups. Connections are Luer-Lock female inlet and Luer cone male outlet. Supplied as a pack of 100 pieces in a bag from manufacturer neolab - Labor, this Ø 17 mm, 0,22 µm filter supports routine unsterile filtration workflows in analytical and research laboratories.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

What is this article?

qpore® syringe filters of PTFE, non-sterile, 0.22 µm, Ø 17 mm, 100 Stk/Pack is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
