Description
RH digital is a digital magnetic stirrer with heating presented in a new innovative design for modern laboratories. It is fitted with a socket according to DIN 12878 for the connection of an electronic contact thermometer such as the ETS-D5. This arrangement permits temperatures to be regulated with high precision directly in the medium. A heating output of 600 W together with a heating plate made from stainless steel composite material ensures rapid heat-up times. The hotplate temperature safety circuit is adjustable from 100 to 360 °C. Digital readouts display both temperature and stirring speed, while the motor incorporates a soft-start function for gentle acceleration. A powerful magnetic field and extensive speed range handle stirring volumes of up to 15 litres. Error code display and convenient operation via a foil keypad round out the feature set. This unit from manufacturer IKA is offered as one piece and supports everyday heating and mixing workflows in research, quality control and analytical laboratories.
This article is part of Magnetic stirrers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about RH digital, Magnetic stirrer with heating
What is this article?
RH digital, Magnetic stirrer with heating is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Magnetic stirrers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A magnetic stirrer is the motor and the plate under the flask. Many also heat. The stirring capacity is the litres of a water-like liquid it can turn, and a viscous liquid defeats a rating that was measured on water.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
