Description

Rotilabo® sealing sleeve is a PTFE laboratory seal designed for standard ground joint 24/29 connections in glassware assemblies. Made from polytetrafluoroethylene, it provides a chemically resistant interface between mating ground joints used in distillation, extraction, and general laboratory glass setups. The sleeve helps improve the seal at the joint without altering the glass geometry and supports routine handling of organic solvents and many laboratory reagents where PTFE compatibility is required. Supplied as a single piece with a low unit weight of 0,007 kg, it is suited to individual joint positions on condensers, flasks, adapters, and related glass components. This Rotilabo® accessory from manufacturer ROTH SELECTION fits the seals-with-ground-glass-joints category of labware and is intended for laboratories that standardise on NS 24/29 taper joints. Use it where a thin PTFE sleeve is preferred for sealing and joint protection during assembly, disassembly, and repeated apparatus changes. The format is a single unit for straightforward stock control and replacement at the bench.

Questions about Rotilabo®-sealing sleeve, PTFE, for ground joint 24/29, 1 unit(s)

What is this article?

Rotilabo®-sealing sleeve, PTFE, for ground joint 24/29, 1 unit(s) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Carl Roth for laboratory use. It sits in Ground-joint glassware (other), inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

This is ground-joint glassware that is not a head, a condenser or a Soxhlet: receivers, blank joints, odd adapters. A ground joint is named by the wide end and the length, such as 29/32. Mismatched joints do not seal, even with grease.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
