Description

S 50 N - W 65 SK is a dispersing tool with cutting head and 65 mm stator diameter for the T 50 digital drive. The shaft is supported in a PTFE slotted-ring bearing, making the tool suitable for solvents. It is sterilizable and tolerates short-term working temperatures up to 180 °C. The rotor is formed as a four-bladed cutting knife, intended for comminution of fibrous, elastic/soft, soft/tough and moist/plastic materials.

This article is part of Homogenisers & dispersers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Immersion depth spans 80 to 350 mm and the working range is 1 to 10 litres, supporting medium-scale sample preparation and process development. Net weight is 1,546 kg. This cutting-head dispersing tool from manufacturer IKA is a practical accessory for disintegrators when size reduction of challenging soft or fibrous matrices is required alongside solvent-compatible dispersion. The combination of cutting geometry and PTFE-bearing shaft supports reliable performance in laboratory homogenization workflows.

Questions about S 50 N - W 65 SK, Dispersing element with cutting head, Ø65 mm

What is this article?

S 50 N - W 65 SK, Dispersing element with cutting head, Ø65 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Homogenisers & dispersers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A homogeniser or disperser uses a rotor inside a stator to tear a sample and disperse it. Tip diameter and speed decide the particle size. A generator for 2 mL and a generator for 1 L are different tools on, sometimes, the same drive.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
