Description

DURAN® protect GL 45 laboratory bottle is an amber, plastic-coated multifunctional laboratory bottle with a nominal volume of 250 ml, supplied without screw cap and pouring ring. Formed from high-purity USP/EP Type I borosilicate glass 3.3 on the inside and finished with a protective PU plastic coating on the outside, it unites near-inert glass contact surfaces with external impact protection. The external amber colouration shields light-sensitive materials from photodegradation and provides ultraviolet protection up to approximately 500 nm in line with international USP/EP standards, while the purely external colouring leaves the internal DURAN® glass properties unchanged. The coating reduces the risk of glass breakage and liquid splashes and offers scratch, leakage and splinter protection; it meets ASTM E1522 requirements and is fully autoclavable at 121 or 134 °C. Robust ISO 4796-1 design and high-performance materials support a long service life. Each bottle carries an easy-to-read graduated volume scale, a permanent white enamel marking field and a permanently printed batch identification (Retrace Code) for full manufacturing traceability. From manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the standardised GL 45 thread accepts matched closure systems for tight sealing and clean pouring. Typical uses include preparation, storage, transport and shipping of light-sensitive materials, autoclaving of media and reagents, and culture-vessel applications.
