Description

SICCO desiccant cassette is an aluminium cassette filled with encapsulated silica gel for controlled moisture uptake in laboratory desiccators. Outer dimensions are 102 mm width × 12 mm height × 53 mm depth, with a filling capacity of approximately 40 g and a total weight of 56 g. A built-in saturation indicator on the top surface changes colour from blue to pink, giving a clear visual cue when the desiccant is spent. The unit is designed to fit Mini and Star desiccators and can be regenerated at 160 °C for 3 hours, supporting repeated use in routine drying workflows. Supplied as a compact, ready-to-place insert from manufacturer Bohlender, it helps maintain a dry atmosphere around moisture-sensitive samples, reagents and components without loose bulk gel. The encapsulated format reduces dusting and simplifies handling during cassette exchange or regeneration cycles in analytical, quality-control and general laboratory environments.

What is this article?

SICCO Desiccant Cartridge, B 102 mm x H 12 mm x T 53 mm Capacity 40 g, suitable is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Histology cassettes & moulds, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A histology cassette holds a tissue through processing, and a mould forms the paraffin block. The cassette's holes have to let solvents through and still keep the specimen. A fine biopsy and a large organ are different cassettes.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
