SONOREX KW 14 insert tank with lid is a plastic hanging insert vessel for ultrasonic baths, used when chemically aggressive liquids, abrasive soils or sample fluids must not contact the bath floor directly. Indirect sonication is achieved by placing the insert in the ultrasonic unit so that nothing rests on the tank bottom. For effective ultrasound transfer into the insert, the surface tension of the bath water must be reduced; a cleaning solution such as TICKOPUR R 33 at about 3 % is therefore required as coupling or contact liquid. Typical applications include work with aggressive media (for example TICKOPUR J 80 U), removal of aggressive or abrasive contamination, and sonication of sample liquids.
