Description

Cell culture flasks, sterile, 250 ml, gas exchange are single-use culture vessels manufactured from USP Class VI crystalline polystyrene under cleanroom class 100000 conditions. A treated surface promotes cell attachment, while the flat base without grooves maximises the usable growth area. Each flask carries a ventilated polyethylene lid with a 0,22 µm hydrophobic membrane that permits gas exchange and helps reduce the risk of cross-contamination. The angled neck design eases access for pipettes and cell scrapers. Raised graduations on both sides and a writing area next to the neck support clear labelling and volume handling. Sterilisation is achieved by beta irradiation; the flasks are certified free of DNase, RNase and pyrogens. Packaging is in resealable bags as 4 × 25 pieces, corresponding to 100 flasks per unit. Nominal volume is 0,25 l and the material is polystyrene (PS). These gas-exchange flasks from manufacturer Labbox are intended for adherent cell and tissue culture where controlled venting through a sterile membrane is required.

This article is part of Cell culture flasks, in Cell culture.

Questions about Sterile treated culture flasks, 250 ml, vent, 4 x 25 pcs

What is this article?

Sterile treated culture flasks, 250 ml, vent, 4 x 25 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Cell culture flasks, inside Cell culture, in Microbiology lab supplies.

A culture flask is a flat vessel with a cap, treated so adherent cells attach, or untreated for suspension cells. Growth area in square centimetres, the cap filter or a plug seal, and the treatment are the specification. A filter cap allows gas exchange. A plug seal does not.

Cell culture grows cells outside the body. The medium, often with serum, supplies what the flask does not. A flask or a dish is the vessel, treated so the cells attach or left untreated so they float. Contamination by microbes, or by another cell line, is the ordinary failure. Cold-chain articles in this work, including serum, are never part of free standard delivery. Lines are catalogued by ATCC. Papers are on PubMed. Practice is summarised by the WHO laboratory biosafety topic.
