Description

SY pH 425 pH electrode is a low-maintenance combination pH electrode equipped with a glass shaft, dual-hole diaphragms and a screw plug head. Measuring 425 mm in length and 12 mm in diameter, it operates across the 0–14 pH range and withstands temperatures from 0 to 130 °C. A matching cable is supplied for connection to Almemo measuring devices, for example the Almemo 2490. The electrode is intended for larger reactor vessels of 2000 ml (SY 2000 and SY 2000 D) and 5000 ml (SY 5000 and SY 5000 D). Offered as a single unit from manufacturer IKA, this pH electrode enables continuous, reliable pH measurement during chemical synthesis, process development and scale-up studies. Its glass construction and dual diaphragms contribute to stable signal quality and extended service intervals under typical laboratory conditions. The extended shaft length ensures proper immersion depth in medium- to large-volume reactors, supporting accurate electrochemical control throughout experimental workflows.

Questions about SY pH 425, pH electrode 425 mm

What is this article?

SY pH 425, pH electrode 425 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
