Description

testoterm temperature measuring strips covering +116 °C to +154 °C are self-adhesive, temperature-sensitive foils that indicate temperature exceedances by irreversible colour change. They are ideal for monitoring products and processes where defined limits must not be exceeded, including small or moving objects such as circuit boards, long-term storage and transport checks, laboratory use, automotive engineering and aerospace applications. Each booklet contains 10 strips that peel off like stickers and bond firmly to the measurement surface. A graduated scale from +116 °C to +154 °C is divided into white boxes; when a given temperature point is surpassed, the corresponding boxes change colour within 2 to 3 seconds. Readable steps are 116 °C, 121 °C, 127 °C, 132 °C, 138 °C, 143 °C, 149 °C and 154 °C. The colouration remains permanent even after cooling, so critical fluctuations can still be assessed later. These strips from manufacturer Testo support continuous visual temperature control without instrumentation. Complementary ranges are available for other process windows.

This article is part of Digital thermometers, in Temperature measurement.

What is this article?

testoterm Temperature strips, +116 …, +154 °C is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Testo for laboratory use. It sits in Digital thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.

A digital thermometer is a display plus a sensor. The resolution on the screen can be finer than the accuracy. The stated accuracy and the calibration point are what the number is worth. The probe type has to be the one the meter expects.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
