Description
testoterm temperature measuring strips for the range +161 °C to +204 °C are self-adhesive, temperature-sensitive foils that respond to temperature exceedances with a permanent colour change. They support temperature monitoring of products and processes where a defined upper limit must not be crossed, for example on moving or compact objects such as printed circuit boards, during long-term storage and transport, in the laboratory, in automotive technology or in aerospace. Delivered in a booklet of 10 pieces, the strips detach like stickers and adhere directly to the object under test. The scale from +161 °C to +204 °C is divided into white boxes; once a temperature point is exceeded, the relevant boxes change colour within 2 to 3 seconds. Readable increments are 161 °C, 169 °C, 172 °C, 177 °C, 184 °C, 189 °C, 197 °C and 204 °C. Colouration is irreversible, so over-temperature events remain visible long after the temperature has dropped. These indicators from manufacturer Testo enable straightforward, instrument-free documentation of thermal exposure. Further measuring ranges are available for other process temperatures.

Questions about testoterm Temperature strips, +161 …, +204 °C
What is this article?
testoterm Temperature strips, +161 …, +204 °C is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Testo for laboratory use. It sits in Digital thermometers, inside Temperature measurement, in Lab instruments.
A digital thermometer is a display plus a sensor. The resolution on the screen can be finer than the accuracy. The stated accuracy and the calibration point are what the number is worth. The probe type has to be the one the meter expects.
A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
