Description

ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive P control workstation is a disperser built around a more powerful motor for stirring, dispersing, grinding and homogenising. It is particularly suited to safe handling of infectious, toxic or strongly odorous samples. Sealable single-use sample vessels are optimised for the application, reduce cleaning effort and systematically exclude cross-contamination. Experimental conditions for time, energy and volume can be defined and programmed, with frequently used parameters stored in a library. Adjustable reverse rotation direction and frequency are set via a clear multilingual menu. A turbo button enables brief intensive mixing, dispersing or grinding at speeds up to 8,000 rpm. The workstation comprises the ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive control unit, one ST-20 tube, one DT-20 tube including a removal hook for the rotor-stator, two BMT-20 G/S tubes and the power supply. This complete set from manufacturer IKA supports reproducible dispersion workflows in a closed-tube format. Net weight is 1,976 kg. The system is intended for laboratory dispersion, homogenisation and sample preparation where containment and programmable process control are required.

This article is part of Homogenisers & dispersers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive P control Workst., Disperser

What is this article?

ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive P control Workst., Disperser is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Homogenisers & dispersers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A homogeniser or disperser uses a rotor inside a stator to tear a sample and disperse it. Tip diameter and speed decide the particle size. A generator for 2 mL and a generator for 1 L are different tools on, sometimes, the same drive.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
