Description

Video microscope KERN OIV 355 is an axial-optics complete solution engineered to optimise digital stereo microscopy, enabling direct and straightforward display of samples on screen. Combined incident and transmitted illumination is included as standard: the LED ring incident light ensures optimal sample lighting, while the transmitted-light LED integrated in the stand complements it for flexible specimen illumination. Together with the large working surface, on-screen capture is well suited to observation, analysis and documentation in industrial environments. Excellent optics maintain continuously sharp imaging across the full zoom range of 0,7× to 4,5×. The eyepiece-free instrument’s 5.0 Megapixel camera delivers high colour fidelity and smooth live observation on the HD monitor. Its high-quality hardened-glass display is easy to clean thanks to the absence of edges. Intuitive software and a wireless USB mouse, both supplied, support simple digital editing and storage of results. An HDMI interface allows connection of an additional monitor for parallel live viewing, while USB links the image to a PC; downloadable S-Viewer software also enables measurements. Zoom wheels with integrated click-stop allow precise magnification selection and assist software calibration. The unit from manufacturer Kern provides HDMI and two USB 2.0 interfaces plus a Micro-SD card slot, and is supplied with a dust cover, 32 GB USB stick, wireless mouse and multilingual operating instructions (DE, EN, FR, IT, RU, JA, ZH).

Questions about Video Microscope KERN OIV 355

What is this article?

Video Microscope KERN OIV 355 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in Digital & USB microscopes, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A digital or USB microscope is a camera with optics, useful for inspection and for a quick shared image. It does not replace a compound microscope when the method needs a stated numerical aperture and a fluorescence filter. Magnification claims on these are often a screen magnification, not an optical one.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
