Volumetric flask, class A, KB with blue graduation, PP stopper and protective coating, 250 ml, NS 14/23 is a precision measuring vessel designed for safe handling of hazardous or valuable solutions. Fabricated from heat-resistant borosilicate glass 3.3 and calibrated to class A, it incorporates a ground joint NS 14/23 and a polypropylene stopper. The specially composed transparent coating envelops the flask body like a protective glove: upon breakage it holds the glass fragments together, markedly reducing impact effects and minimising leakage. In most cases the coating retains the solution inside the vessel. The coating tolerates temperatures up to 135 °C for a maximum of 30 minutes, can be cleaned at up to 95 °C and autoclaved at 121 °C; contact with an open flame must be avoided. Clear and brown flasks of the corresponding series share the same technical specifications.
