Description
Whirl Pak® Thio Bag 2000 ml is a sterile stand-up plastic sampling bag with write-on strip for larger-volume collection of chlorinated water prior to faecal coliform and other bacterial analyses. Inside every bag is a non-toxic, non-nutritive tablet containing active sodium thiosulfate, which neutralises chlorine at the point of sampling and helps preserve sample integrity for microbiological testing. Intended applications cover municipalities, swimming pools, wastewater and many other water-quality settings. Each bag is EPA-approved and retains the proven Whirl-Pak handling features, including Tyvek® pull tabs for opening without contamination. Samples—liquids or solids—are filled, then sealed by whirling the tabs three times or folding them three to four times and bending the wire ends securely. Offered as a pack of 100 pieces from manufacturer neolab - Labor, the 2000 ml format provides a practical alternative to reusable bottles while reducing storage space, handling effort and disposal costs in laboratory and field programmes.
This article is part of Vortex mixers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about Whirl Pak® Thio Bag 2000 ml, Kunststoffbeutel mit Schriftfeld und Natriumthiosul
What is this article?
Whirl Pak® Thio Bag 2000 ml, Kunststoffbeutel mit Schriftfeld und Natriumthiosul is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Vortex mixers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A vortex mixer oscillates a cup so a tube pressed into it spins its contents into a vortex. It mixes a tube in seconds. It does not mix a flask, and it is not a substitute for a shaker when the method says thirty minutes.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
