Description
Activated carbon / fine filter 5 µm, 10'' Big Blue is a dual-housing filter group that combines one activated-carbon cartridge with one 5 µm fine-filter cartridge, each 10'' long, in Big Blue housings. This arrangement enables sequential treatment of water streams: adsorptive removal of chlorine, organics and odours on the carbon stage, followed by mechanical retention of fine particulates down to 5 µm. The complete filter group is intended for laboratory and process water pre-treatment where both adsorptive and particulate filtration are required in a compact footprint. Supplied as a single unit from manufacturer Evoqua Water Technologies, the assembly is ready for integration into cartridge-based filtration systems. Big Blue housings accommodate the larger cartridge diameter commonly chosen for higher throughput or longer service intervals between change-outs. Applications include feed-water conditioning ahead of demineralisation, reverse osmosis or analytical pure-water systems, as well as general laboratory utility water polishing. The 5 µm stage helps shield downstream equipment from suspended solids, while the activated-carbon stage improves organoleptic and chemical water quality for sensitive laboratory uses.

Questions about Active Carbon/ Fine filter 5µm, 2x 10'' BigBlue, GAC
What is this article?
Active Carbon/ Fine filter 5µm, 2x 10'' BigBlue, GAC is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Evoqua Water Technologies for laboratory use. It sits in Filtration accessories, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
Filtration accessories are the holders, the gaskets, the manifolds and the flasks a membrane or a Büchner setup needs. A holder for 47 mm discs does not clamp a 25 mm disc. The gasket is what actually seals.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
