Description

Benchtop turbidity meter (wide measuring range), EPA, 230 V is a high-precision laboratory turbidity instrument based on the USEPA method and developed especially for low-range measurements such as drinking-water analysis. It offers ratio and non-ratio measurement methods with automatic range selection across 0,00 to 9,99; 10,0 to 99,9 and 100 to 4000 NTU, plus corresponding Nephelos (0,0 to 99,9; 100 to 26800) and EBC (0,00 to 9,99; 10,0 to 99,9; 100 to 980) scales. Resolution is 0,01; 0,1 or 1 NTU (and matching Nephelos/EBC steps). Accuracy is ±2% of reading plus 0,02 NTU (0,15 Nephelos; 0,01 EBC), or ±5% above 1000 NTU; reproducibility is ±1% of reading or 0,02 NTU. A tungsten lamp and silicon photocell enable nephelometric (90°) or ratio (90° and 180°) measurement per USEPA Method 180.1 and Standard Method 2130 B. Normal, average and continuous modes are supported. The backlit LCD provides contextual help and a tutorial mode; calibration is possible at up to five points, with GLP features, storage for 200 readings and USB PC interface. Supplied with five capped cuvettes, turbidity standard kit, silicone oil, cleaning cloth and power cable, this meter from manufacturer Hanna Instruments measures 230 x 200 x 145 mm, weighs 2,5 kg and operates on 220 V.

What is this article?

benchtop turbidity meter (with additional measuring ranges), EPA, 230V is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
