Description

CHROMAFIL GF/RC-20/25 BIGbox is a bulk pack of disposable syringe filters intended for high-volume sample preparation. Each filter uses a glass fibre/regenerated cellulose dual membrane with pore diameters of 1,0 µm and 0,20 µm and a membrane diameter of 25 mm. The glass fibre layer serves as a prefilter for larger particles, while the regenerated cellulose membrane provides fine filtration of aqueous and many polar organic samples before chromatographic or spectroscopic analysis. Housings are colour-coded blue on top and blue underneath for quick identification. The BIGbox supplies 400 filters in a PE screw jar, reducing reorder frequency for busy laboratories. These CHROMAFIL filters from manufacturer Macherey-Nagel couple to standard Luer syringes and suit routine HPLC, UHPLC and general wet-chemistry clean-up. The 25 mm format offers useful filtration area with manageable hold-up volume, and the dual-layer membrane supports consistent particle removal across large sample series.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about CHROMAFIL GF/RC-20/25, BIGbox

What is this article?

CHROMAFIL GF/RC-20/25, BIGbox is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
