Description

CTA Membrane with 5.000 MWCO and 25 mm diameter is a laboratory ultrafiltration membrane for separation of macromolecules. It is compatible with traditional and legacy stirred cells and is recommended for custom applications. Flexible options suit ultrafiltration (UF) and diafiltration (DF) of most macromolecules. Popular applications include concentration and protein removal (UF), buffer exchange and desalting (DF), and electroultrafiltration (EUF). Supplied in a pack of 10 pieces from manufacturer Sartorius, these non-sterile CTA membrane discs provide a defined molecular weight cut-off for controlled retention during sample processing. Net weight is 0,010 kg. The 25 mm format integrates readily into standard stirred-cell workflows where selective passage of smaller species and salts is required while larger molecules are retained. This membrane supports concentration, desalting and buffer-exchange steps in protein handling and related macromolecular preparation protocols under typical laboratory conditions.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Ultrafilter, 5kDa CTA, 25mm, 10pc

What is this article?

Ultrafilter, 5kDa CTA, 25mm, 10pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
