Description

Kieselguhr filter papers Grade 470 are fluted laboratory filters with a diameter of 240 mm, made from cellulose and kieselguhr for improved particle separation. At the same filtration speed they deliver distinctly better retention than pure cellulose papers, so that even the finest particles can be held back quickly at high flow rates. Each unit supplies 100 fluted filters, giving laboratories a practical stock for repeated clarification and sample-preparation steps. The cellulose–kieselguhr matrix combines fine retention with the throughput expected from Grade 470 media, supporting efficient processing of aqueous and process liquids. These filter papers from manufacturer Sartorius are suited to analytical, quality-control and general laboratory filtration where superior separation relative to standard cellulose grades is required. The 240 mm fluted geometry increases the effective surface area presented to the liquid stream and simplifies placement in common funnels and filtration assemblies. With a net weight of 0,633 kg per pack, the format is convenient for routine bench use across research and industrial laboratory workflows that demand reliable fine-particle capture without sacrificing flow.

Questions about Diatomaceous Earth filter/ Grade 470

What is this article?

Diatomaceous Earth filter/ Grade 470 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Filter paper, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

Filter paper is a cellulose sheet of a stated retention and speed. Qualitative paper clarifies. Quantitative, ashless paper is for a precipitate that will be weighed or ashed, because the paper itself leaves almost no ash. The diameter has to match the funnel.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
