Description
VitraPOR® glass filter plate, 100 mm diameter, porosity F, is a precision-sintered disc made from borosilicate glass 3.3. Thickness is specified at 8,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 1,8 mm; the surface remains untreated and the plate is round and centred for straightforward mounting in filtration assemblies. This filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon delivers the chemical resistance and thermal stability expected of borosilicate 3.3, making it suitable for aqueous and organic media in laboratory and process filtration. Porosity grade F provides a defined pore structure for consistent particle retention and flow characteristics. The solid glass construction supports repeated use in Büchner-type setups, custom filter holders, gas-washing trains or sample preparation workflows where a flat, circular frit of controlled porosity is required. Its untreated surface allows optional further treatment or direct integration into glass apparatus. Supplied as a single piece, the plate is ready for immediate installation in research, quality-control or educational laboratories that rely on durable VitraPOR® glass filter media.

What is this article?
Filter Disc, centered, 100 mm, Por. F Thickness 8.0 mm ± 1.8 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
