Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate, 120 mm diameter, porosity 0, is fabricated from high-quality borosilicate glass 3.3. The disc has a nominal thickness of 8,5 mm with a tolerance of ± 1,9 mm, an untreated surface and a round, centred geometry for reliable seating in filter housings. Offered by manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, this plate combines the chemical durability and thermal performance characteristic of borosilicate 3.3 with a coarse porosity grade 0 suited to rapid filtration or support of finer media. It is intended for laboratory and technical filtration tasks, including vacuum filtration, gas dispersion or as a porous base in custom apparatus. The robust sintered construction withstands repeated thermal cycling and exposure to many laboratory reagents. Because the surface is left untreated, the plate can be integrated directly or further processed according to application needs. Supplied as one piece, it provides a ready-to-use circular frit for research, industrial quality control and teaching laboratories that require dependable VitraPOR® glass filter plates of defined diameter and porosity.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 120 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 8.5 mm ± 1.9 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
