Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate, 130 mm, porosity 0, is a borosilicate 3.3 disc for laboratory filtration. It measures 10,0 mm in thickness with a tolerance of ± 2,2 mm, is round and centred, and has an untreated surface. Borosilicate glass 3.3 provides the chemical resistance and thermal stability expected in analytical and preparative filtration setups. This VitraPOR® filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon is supplied as a single piece for assemblies that require a defined porosity grade and consistent outer dimensions. Porosity 0 is the coarsest grade in the common porosity series and is typically chosen for coarse filtration, pre-filtration or as a support layer. The untreated surface and centred geometry simplify seating in holders and custom apparatus. Research and quality-control laboratories can use the 130 mm format whenever robust glass filter media with controlled thickness are specified. Material grade, porosity rating and dimensional tolerance together support reproducible installation and everyday filtration performance in standard laboratory workflows.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 130 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 10 mm ± 2.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
