Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate in borosilicate 3.3 is a round, centred disc with an untreated surface, diameter 140 mm, porosity grade 0 and thickness 10,0 mm (tolerance ± 2,2 mm). It functions as a fritted filtration element for laboratory solid–liquid separations under gravity or reduced pressure. Porosity 0 denotes a coarse pore class typically chosen for prefiltration, support of finer media or higher-flow duties. The plate integrates into filter holders, Büchner-style assemblies and custom glassware where a chemically inert porous medium is required. Pack size is one piece, ready for mounting in existing apparatus. From manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, VitraPOR® components combine the thermal and chemical durability of borosilicate 3.3 with controlled geometry. The untreated, round-centred finish preserves native frit characteristics and supports uniform seating. Suitable for analytical, preparative and process-development laboratories handling aqueous systems and common organic solvents that demand a robust glass filter medium with defined porosity and dimensional tolerance.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 140 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 10 mm ± 2.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
