Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plates in borosilicate 3.3 provide a durable filtration medium for laboratory separation and sample preparation. This round, centred plate has a diameter of 150 mm, porosity grade 2 and a thickness of 10,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 2,2 mm. The untreated surface is suited to standard filtration setups where a defined pore structure is required. From manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, the plate is intended for filtration apparatus, Büchner-type assemblies and related glassware systems that accept flat sintered discs. Borosilicate 3.3 glass offers the chemical resistance and thermal stability expected in laboratory glassware applications. Porosity 2 supports medium filtration tasks between coarser and finer grades, making the disc appropriate for clarification and particle-retention steps. Supplied as a single piece, the filter plate integrates into preparative and analytical workflows in chemistry, life-science and industrial laboratories. The round geometry and untreated finish allow straightforward mounting and handling during assembly of filtration equipment used for routine solid–liquid separation.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 150 mm, Por. 2 Thickness 10 mm ± 2.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
