Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate in borosilicate 3.3 is a round, centered disc for laboratory filtration and separation work. With a diameter of 190 mm and porosity grade F, it provides a defined porous matrix for solid–liquid separation, media support, and gas or liquid distribution. Thickness is 15,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 3,5 mm, giving mechanical stability in holders, funnels, and custom apparatus. The untreated surface retains the as-sintered frit character preferred in many analytical and preparative procedures. Borosilicate 3.3 offers chemical resistance and thermal stability for aqueous media and common laboratory solvents. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, the plate fits systems that accept 190 mm discs. Porosity F denotes a fine pore class within the VitraPOR® range for controlled flow and retention. Round, centered geometry supports uniform seating against seals and flanges in research and quality-control setups.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 190 mm, Por. F Thickness 15 mm ± 3.5 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
