Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate of borosilicate glass 3.3 with 25 mm diameter, porosity 2 and thickness 3,0 mm ± 0,7 mm is intended for precise laboratory filtration. The round, centred disc features an untreated surface that remains compatible with a wide range of solvents and sample matrices. Porosity grade 2 provides a defined pore structure suitable for medium-fine separations of solids from liquids or gases. Manufactured by ROBU - Stereon, the plate exhibits the chemical durability and thermal stability characteristic of borosilicate 3.3 glass, allowing use under elevated temperatures or aggressive media when required. Supplied in packs of 10 pieces, the filters fit standard holders and frit assemblies commonly found in analytical and preparative work. Dimensional tolerance of ± 0,7 mm on thickness ensures consistent seating and sealing. These discs support routine sample clarification, catalyst recovery, gas sparging and other filtration steps in research, quality-control and process laboratories where reproducible glass frits are essential. The untreated surface leaves the user free to apply any additional coatings or treatments if specific applications demand them.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 25 mm, Por. 2 Thickness 3.0 mm ± 0.7 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
