Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate is a round, centered borosilicate 3.3 disc with a diameter of 380 mm, porosity 0 and a thickness of 38,0 mm (tolerance ± 8,0 mm). The untreated surface is intended for filtration assemblies and laboratory setups that require a large-format sintered glass plate of defined porosity. Porosity grade 0 provides a coarse pore structure suited to applications where high flow and retention of coarser particles are needed. Manufactured from chemically resistant borosilicate glass 3.3, the plate withstands typical laboratory solvents and thermal conditions associated with filtration work. This filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon is supplied as a single piece for integration into custom filter holders, large-scale filtration apparatus or process laboratory equipment. The round centered geometry supports uniform seating in matching housings, while the substantial thickness contributes mechanical stability across the 380 mm diameter. Laboratories select this VitraPOR® plate when a robust, untreated glass filter medium of porosity 0 is required for coarse filtration duties.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 380 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 38 mm ± 8.0 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
