Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate with 60 mm diameter and porosity 2 is a sintered disc produced from borosilicate glass 3.3 for laboratory filtration. The plate has a thickness of 5,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 1,1 mm and an untreated, round centred surface that supports accurate seating in holders or apparatus. Supplied in packs of 5 pieces, these filter plates from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon provide a chemically resistant and thermally stable frit element suitable for solid-liquid separation, sample preparation and support of finer media. Porosity grade 2 yields a defined pore structure appropriate for finer filtration steps in analytical or preparative workflows. The inert borosilicate 3.3 composition minimises interaction with aqueous and organic solvents commonly used in the laboratory. Round geometry and centred design facilitate concentric mounting in filter crucibles, funnels or custom glassware. The untreated surface leaves the glass free of coatings, preserving compatibility across a wide range of reagents while allowing straightforward cleaning and reuse under standard laboratory practice.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 60 mm, Por. 2 Thickness 5.0 mm ± 1.1 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
