Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate in borosilicate glass 3.3 is a round, centred porous disc for laboratory filtration assemblies. With a diameter of 80 mm, porosity grade 1 and a thickness of 6,0 mm (tolerance ± 1,3 mm), the plate provides a stable frit surface for solid–liquid separation and support applications. The untreated surface is suitable for integration into glass apparatus and custom filtration setups where chemical resistance and thermal stability of borosilicate 3.3 are required. Supplied in packs of 5 pieces, these filter plates support reproducible laboratory workflows in analytical and preparative work. Manufactured by ROBU - Stereon, the VitraPOR® discs offer consistent porosity grading for controlled flow characteristics. The round, centred geometry facilitates mounting and sealing in matching holders or ground-joint systems. Ideal for laboratories needing durable glass frits for routine filtration, gas dispersion or as porous supports in chemical and life-science applications.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 80 mm, Por. 1 Thickness 6.0 mm ± 1.4 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
