Description

Filter plate Ø 25 mm, Por. 4 is a circular glass filter disc intended for laboratory solid-liquid separation. It combines a diameter of 25 mm with porosity grade Por. 4, supporting precise filtration in analytical and preparative work where fine particle retention is important. As a Glasfilter product type the plate mounts readily in conventional laboratory glass apparatus including filter funnels, crucibles and custom filtration set-ups used with gravity or vacuum. The compact 25 mm size is practical for low-volume samples processed in research, quality-control and teaching laboratories. Defined porosity grading helps ensure reproducible flow behaviour during clarification of suspensions or collection of fine precipitates. Supplied as a single piece and marked with the Rettberg ® registered trademark from manufacturer Rettberg, the disc delivers the chemical resistance and thermal performance expected of laboratory glass filtration media. Por. 4 is selected when finer retention is prioritised. The plate may be cleaned and reused in accordance with normal glassware practice, providing a dependable component for routine filtration operations across chemical, pharmaceutical and materials science laboratories.

Questions about Filter Disk, Ø 25 mm, Por. 4

What is this article?

Filter Disk, Ø 25 mm, Por. 4 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Rettberg for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
