Description
Glass fibre microfilter grade GFFC (1,2 µm) is a binder-free circular filter manufactured from 100 % borosilicate glass microfibres for rapid laboratory filtration with strong retention of fine particles. Specified at 1,2 µm pore size, 55 g/m² grammage and 270 µm thickness, the 47 mm discs are a recognised standard medium for determining suspended solids (MES) in drinking water and wastewater according to European EN 872 and US Standard Methods 2540D. They tolerate high temperatures and are supplied as round filters in packs of 100 pieces from manufacturer Labbox. Method continuity is supported by equivalence to Whatman GF/C, Macherey-Nagel GF-3, Millipore AP40 and Schleicher & Schuell GF52. The binder-free glass matrix minimises extractables while maintaining fast flow and reliable particle capture for environmental monitoring, quality control and routine analytical workflows that demand consistent 1,2 µm performance in a compact 47 mm format.

Questions about Glass microfiber filter, GFFC grade (1,2 µm), Ø47 mm, 100 pcs
What is this article?
Glass microfiber filter, GFFC grade (1,2 µm), Ø47 mm, 100 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Glass & quartz fibre filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
Glass-fibre and quartz-fibre filters are depth filters with a high dirt load, used for air sampling, for total suspended solids and in front of a membrane. They have no sharp pore-size cutoff the way a membrane does. Binderless grades matter when the filter will be weighed or heated.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
