Description
Gold tester SAUTER TN GOLD 80 is an ultrasonic measuring instrument for checking the authenticity of gold bars and coins. It determines whether items are genuine gold or contain false cores by measuring thickness with ultrasound and comparing the result with the thickness obtained by traditional caliper measurement. Ultrasound waves enter the test piece via a sensor, travel through the material, reflect from the opposite surface and return to the sensor; differing acoustic behaviour in materials such as tungsten or lead makes counterfeit cores readily detectable. Selectable units are mm and inch. Included SAUTER SSG software calculates sound velocity for various precious-metal alloys, compensates known admixtures such as copper or silver, and can estimate the value of the gold piece. The method is non-destructive and measures through the entire bar or coin. Internal memory holds up to 20 files with as many as 100 individual values each. A zero plate for adjustment is supplied. Delivery from manufacturer Kern includes operating instructions, batteries, an external measuring head (Ø 6 mm), ultrasonic contact gel and a robust carrying case. Net weight is 0,25 kg.

Questions about Gold Tester SAUTER TN GOLD 80
What is this article?
Gold Tester SAUTER TN GOLD 80 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
