Description

LabSen 845 pH/Temp. electrode is a glass combination electrode engineered for high-precision pH measurement of strongly alkaline solutions (pH 10–14) and/or samples with high salt content above 5000 ppm, while remaining suitable for general aqueous solutions. Manufactured with proprietary Swiss sensor technology and materials from APERA Instruments, it features a LabSen HA glass membrane that minimises alkaline error in strong bases. An open diaphragm with polymer electrolyte ensures full sample contact and reduces clogging risk. The silver-ion reference system provides a stable reference potential and long service life, and the glass membrane is up to ten times more robust than conventional designs. An integrated 30 kΩ NTC temperature sensor supports automatic temperature compensation. The lead-free glass shaft measures Ø12 × 120 mm, with a measuring range of 1–14 pH and recommended operating temperatures of 0–130 °C. Connection is 8-pin with a Ø5 mm × 1 m cable, compatible with Apera meters such as PH60, PH60-Z, PH400, PC400, PH400S, PC400S, SX751 and SX736. Six-month manufacturer warranty. Pack size: 1 piece.

Questions about LabSen 843 combined pH/Temp. Electrode, for Strong Base Solutions

What is this article?

LabSen 843 combined pH/Temp. Electrode, for Strong Base Solutions is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
