Description
LabSen 841 pH electrode is designed for accurate measurement of strongly basic solutions in the 10–14 pH range. Produced with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from manufacturer APERA Instruments, it employs a LabSen HA glass membrane that improves accuracy and reproducibility in strong bases while minimising alkaline error. The hemispherical membrane is up to 10 times more robust than conventional products, substantially lowering breakage risk from impacts. A silver ion trap reference system combined with the long-life reference prevents diaphragm blockage or contamination by silver sulfide. Blue gel electrolyte does not flow and avoids air-bubble formation. The lead-free glass shaft measures Ø12 × 120 mm and features a ceramic diaphragm with 3M KCl electrolyte. BNC connection via the Ø3 mm × 1 m cable ensures compatibility with common BNC pH meters including PH850, PC850 and similar instruments. No integrated temperature sensor is present; automatic temperature compensation needs a separate probe such as the MP500 or manual temperature input. Measuring range is 1 to 14 pH with recommended operating temperature from 0 to 130 °C. It serves as the replacement electrode for PH850-SA and PH8500-SA kits and includes a six-month manufacturer warranty.

Questions about LabSen pH Electrode, for Strong Alkaline Solutions
What is this article?
LabSen pH Electrode, for Strong Alkaline Solutions is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
