Description

LabSen 803 professional combination pH electrode is engineered for accurate pH measurement of pure water, including drinking water and distilled water. Manufactured with patented Swiss sensor technology and materials from APERA Instruments, it incorporates a LabSen L-type cylindrical glass membrane that is up to ten times more robust than conventional designs and exhibits very low resistance, making it suitable for low-ionic-strength samples. The blue gel electrolyte does not flow and avoids air-bubble formation, while an adjustable movable sleeve allows control of the electrolyte infiltration rate. A silver-ion trap prevents blockage by silver sulphide. An integrated NTC 30 kΩ temperature sensor enables automatic temperature compensation. The lead-free glass shaft measures Ø12 × 130 mm and is fitted with a Ø5 mm × 1 m cable. Measuring range is 0 to 11 pH at recommended operating temperatures of 0 to 80 °C; storage solution is 3 M KCl. The electrode uses a BNC connector for pH and an RCA connector for the temperature sensor, ensuring compatibility with Apera Instruments meters such as PH850-PW and PH8500-PW as a replacement electrode. Supplied as 1 piece for laboratory pure-water applications.

Questions about LabSen803 Professional 3-in-1 pH/Temp. Electrode for Purified Water

What is this article?

LabSen803 Professional 3-in-1 pH/Temp. Electrode for Purified Water is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
