Description

Mobile Leeb hardness tester SAUTER HMM is a portable rebound hardness instrument built for demanding field and workshop measurements. A spring-driven impact module strikes the test object; the reduction in kinetic energy is converted into Leeb hardness values. An external type D rebound sensor is included, giving far greater mobility and flexibility than stationary bench units or devices with fixed internal sensors. Automatic compensation enables testing in all orientations (360°). A hardness comparison block (790 ± 40 HL) is supplied for verification. Internal memory stores up to nine readings, while the mini-statistics function displays measured value, average, test direction, date and time. Results appear in Rockwell (B and C), Vickers (HV), Brinell (HB), Shore (HSD), Leeb (HL) and tensile strength (MPa), with automatic conversion across these scales. An infrared printer for direct output of results is included, and the instrument from manufacturer Kern is delivered in a robust carrying case. Net weight of the tester is 0,25 kg.

Questions about Mobile Leeb Hardness Tester SAUTER HMM

What is this article?

Mobile Leeb Hardness Tester SAUTER HMM is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Kern for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
