Description

PES membrane discs with a molecular weight cut-off of 5.000 MWCO and a diameter of 76 mm are polyethersulfone (PES) membranes for laboratory ultrafiltration and diafiltration of macromolecules. Each pack contains 10 pieces and is intended for use as discs in concentration and protein removal (UF), buffer exchange and desalting (DF), and electroultrafiltration (EUF). The membranes are compatible with traditional and legacy stirred cells and offer flexible options for custom applications involving most macromolecules. These Hydrosart® discs from manufacturer Sartorius help laboratories standardise sample preparation whenever a defined MWCO and a 76 mm geometry are required. They suit protein chemistry, buffer conditioning and process-development work where reproducible retention behaviour is essential. The discs are supplied non-sterile for general laboratory handling in stirred-cell systems. Clear diameter and MWCO identification simplify selection alongside matching hardware, while the polyethersulfone construction supports aqueous ultrafiltration workflows typical of research and quality-control environments.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Ultrafilter, 5kDa PES, 76mm, 10pc

What is this article?

Ultrafilter, 5kDa PES, 76mm, 10pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
