Description

PH700-HF benchtop pH meter delivers rapid and reliable laboratory pH measurements in strongly acidic media and solutions containing hydrofluoric acid. The instrument is paired with the Swiss LabSen 833 pH/temperature electrode, whose HF-resistant membrane, ceramic junction and silver-ion barrier reference system are designed for these demanding matrices. Automatic 1- to 3-point calibration incorporates self-diagnosis and electrode-status indication. Max/Min mode supports efficient review of measurement sequences, and 50 data records can be stored internally. The housing meets IP54 splash and dust protection. pH range is 0,00–14,00 with 0,1/0,01 resolution and ±0,01 ± 1 digit accuracy; mV range extends to ±1999 mV. Temperature compensation (automatic or manual) covers 0–100 °C. Electrode measuring range is 0–12 pH at recommended temperatures up to 100 °C. Supplied by manufacturer Apera Instruments, the set comprises the PH700 meter, LabSen 833 electrode, electrode holder, calibration solutions pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 (50 ml each) and power adapter. Meter size is 24 × 23,5 × 10,3 cm and weight 1 kg (1,8 kg with case). Manufacturer warranty is two years on the meter and six months on the electrode.

Questions about PH700 Benchtop pH Meter incl. pH electrode

What is this article?

PH700 Benchtop pH Meter incl. pH electrode is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
