Description

PH700-PW benchtop pH meter is intended for accurate laboratory pH determination in pure water—including distilled, deionised, well, storm, drinking and RO water—as well as other low-ionic-strength solutions. It is equipped with the Swiss LabSen 803 pH/temperature electrode that incorporates a specialised low-impedance L-membrane, movable sleeve junction and silver-ion barrier reference system optimised for these matrices. Automatic 1- to 3-point calibration with self-diagnosis and electrode-condition display simplifies routine use. Max/Min reading mode enables quick assessment of measurement series, and internal memory holds 50 data sets. The IP54 housing resists splash water and dust. pH range spans 0,00 to 14,00 at 0,1/0,01 resolution and ±0,01 ± 1 digit accuracy; mV range is ±1999 mV. Temperature compensation operates automatically or manually from 0 to 100 °C. Electrode range is 0–11 pH with recommended use up to 80 °C. The complete package from manufacturer Apera Instruments contains the PH700 meter, LabSen 803 electrode, electrode holder, pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 buffers (50 ml each) and power supply. Dimensions are 24 × 23,5 × 10,3 cm; weight is 1 kg (1,8 kg with case). Two-year meter warranty and six-month electrode warranty apply.

Questions about PH700 Benchtop pH Meter incl. pH electrode

What is this article?

PH700 Benchtop pH Meter incl. pH electrode is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
