Description
PH850-BR portable pH meter is a compact handheld instrument for determining pH, ORP (electrode available separately, e.g. 301Pt-C) and temperature, developed especially for beverage production including beer, wine, kombucha and juice. The supplied LabSen® 213 pH/temperature electrode enables fast, precise and reproducible measurements at sample temperatures up to 100 °C; its integrated temperature sensor supports automatic temperature compensation (ATC). A silicone sleeve provides a secure, impact-resistant grip, while the IP57 water- and dust-tight housing suits field use in demanding environments. The meter from manufacturer APERA Instruments offers a fold-out stand for comfortable bench operation, quick automatic 1- to 3-point calibration, self-diagnosis and a large backlit LCD that simultaneously shows the measured value, temperature and calibration data. Technical ranges cover 0,00 to 14,00 pH (resolution 0,1/0,01; accuracy ±0,01 ±1 digit), ±1000 mV and 0 to 100 °C. Power is supplied by three AA batteries. Instrument size is 88 × 170 × 33 mm at 313 g (with case 360 × 270 × 76 mm / 1,3 kg). The kit comprises the PH850 meter, LabSen® 213 electrode, pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 calibration solutions (50 ml each), screwdriver, manual and carrying case.

Questions about PH850-BR Portable pH Meter for Beverage Making (Beer, Wine etc.)
What is this article?
PH850-BR Portable pH Meter for Beverage Making (Beer, Wine etc.) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
