Description

PH850-DP portable pH meter is a handy, easy-to-operate instrument for pH, ORP (electrode available separately) and temperature measurement, tailored to dairy products such as milk, yoghurt and buttermilk as well as other liquid foods including jam, barbecue sauce and syrup. The supplied LabSen® 823 pH electrode is engineered for fast, precise and reproducible readings without diaphragm blockage by proteins or sulphides, and incorporates a temperature sensor for automatic temperature compensation (ATC). A protective silicone sleeve and IP57 water- and dust-tight housing make the meter well suited to field work in harsh surroundings, while a fold-out stand supports convenient benchtop use. One- to three-point automatic calibration is quick and straightforward; the large backlit LCD simultaneously shows the measured value and temperature plus calibration information, and self-diagnosis assists setup and troubleshooting. Technical ranges include 0,00–14,00 pH (resolution 0,1/0,01, accuracy ±0,01 ±1 digit), ±1000 mV and 0–100 °C. The meter runs on three AA batteries, measures 88×170×33 mm and weighs 0,313 kg (1,3 kg with case). Delivery includes the PH850 meter, LabSen® 823 electrode, calibration solutions pH 4,00 / 7,00 / 10,01 (50 ml each), screwdriver, manual and carrying case from manufacturer APERA Instruments.

Questions about PH850-DP Portable pH Meter for Dairy Products (Milk, Cream, Yogurt)

What is this article?

PH850-DP Portable pH Meter for Dairy Products (Milk, Cream, Yogurt) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH meter reads the electrode and displays pH, after calibration with at least two buffers. A meter that cannot be calibrated is a voltmeter. Resolution to 0.001 is not the same as accuracy. Portable and benchtop meters differ in the electrodes they accept and in the data they store.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
