Description

Laboratory stem thermometer similar to DIN in enclosed-scale form spans −5 to +100 °C with a 0,2 °C scale division, covering slightly sub-zero conditions through to boiling-range work. A special internal capillary coating and non-wetting blue special filling ensure stable, easy-to-read indication without glass wetting. The upper section measures 350×11 mm and the lower stem 100×7–8 mm, with an immersion depth of 80 mm. The stem is finished with a Richter closure without button. Supplied as a single unit with a works test certificate including one test point, this instrument from manufacturer Amarell is intended for general laboratory temperature measurement, bath control and routine process checks where a compact enclosed-scale stem thermometer is preferred. The blue filling supports quick visual assessment, and the enclosed graduation remains protected during daily handling. Manufactured in Germany (Bavaria).

A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column, often with a stated immersion depth, total or partial. The range and the division decide the reading. A partial-immersion thermometer read at the wrong depth is wrong by design.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
